Discover the terrible cost of war.

From the remains of the Somme and beyond, the battlefields of the First World War offer a thought-provoking reminder of our past. Naturally, they also make for an enriching experience for students.

After all, there is no greater history lesson than standing where the fallen once stood. Your group will trace their footsteps and learn about life on the Western Front.

They’ll explore the devastating nature of the Great War. They’ll discover how each side dug into the muddy fields of France and Belgium, losing hundreds of thousands of men on each advance, often for little gain. They’ll find the stories of WWI in museums, surviving trenches, memorials and cemeteries across the region.

It’s our job to plan and create a school trip that packs all of this in for your group. Our tour advisers are experts on the WW1 Battlefields, including the best activities and accommodation options for school groups, so we can handle everything for you. Get in touch today for a free quote.

Why Choose The WW1 Battlefields For An Educational Tour?

Real-life lessons

There’s something quite profound about standing on the very ground where some of history’s biggest events unfolded.

For your students, it helps them grasp the scale of the conflict in a way no textbook can. Seeing these sites in person provides context to carry forward into lessons and exams, in a way that simply reading about them cannot.

Plus, you can turn the battlefields into a cross-curricular trip for your school’s History and English departments. There are plenty of opportunities to dip into the poetry of Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon, John McCrae, and many of the other great writers.

Memorable experiences

Across Northern France and into Belgium, there are a huge number of memorable experiences for your group. Some of the most well-known include the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing, Lochnagar Crater, Tyne Cot Cemetery and the In Flanders Fields Museum. You can even take part in the Menin Gate Last Post Ceremony.

For younger pupils, these activities introduce them to the foundational lessons of WW1. For older students, it adds to their understanding of events they may have previously read books, watched films, or even played games about.

And when the learning is done, there’s always time to explore the local towns and villages, maybe even sneaking in a delicious crêpe or two.

A school trip to the USA is an unforgettable adventure.

Most students have never left Europe. And while they’ll be familiar with American culture from TV, film and music, the reality is more than they could ever imagine.

This is a country of big dreams and bold ideas. Moments that have shaken history and shaped the modern world. Whether they’re walking up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial or looking out from the top of the Empire State Building, this is an experience that will stay with them for years.

But, for teachers, the thought of booking and organising such a big trip can be overwhelming. That’s why we’re here.

Our tour advisers, who have real, genuine experience of visiting the US, will guide you through every stage – from planning a suitable itinerary to supporting you while you’re away.

To get started, fill out a contact form or call us on 01292 477 771.

Why Choose The USA For An Educational Tour?

See history and politics up close

The USA’s story is one of revolution, change, and ambition.

For students studying history or politics, there’s no better place to understand how the ideas that shaped a nation continue to evolve today. We can organise visits that help support this learning experience, from the stories of immigrants at Ellis Island to the fight for Civil Rights.

    Witness American ambition and innovation

Take a look at cutting-edge science at New York’s American Museum of Natural History. Witness the world’s financial centrepiece, Wall Street, in action. Visit world-leading universities and tech hubs where the next generation of ideas is already taking shape.

For your students, this is a chance to see how curiosity, research, and ambition have changed the world – and continue to do so.

    Enjoy the culture

Music, art, film, and food. The USA’s cultural influence is everywhere. Students can soak up the buzz of Times Square, see world-famous art at The Met, or walk through the monuments and museums of Washington, D.C. They’ll hear new stories, try new flavours, and see the world through a wider lens.

And yes, they’ll probably grab a New York hot dog along the way.

      Frequently Asked Questions

Our school trips to the USA are a bit more expensive than other destinations due to the distance involved. Prices depend on where you go and how long for. If you have a certain budget in mind, we can try and plan a trip to match.

You can visit the USA at any time of year, but there are some considerations in regards to weather and tourist numbers – depending on where you visit. We generally recommend the shoulder seasons for school groups.

To visit the US, students will need an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) or an appropriate visa. Students may also need to provide information about their trip (purpose, location and length), along with a letter of consent from their parents. We’ll advise on all requirements and documentation required.

Our groups fly to the USA, usually from one of the UK’s major airports (London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, etc). We will organise all travel while you’re away, which may include using public transport, like the New York City Subway.

Fun, Fun, Fun on the Autobahn

Once you access the Grafenberg Gondola there is no reason to return to the town as you can access all the slopes on both sides of the mountain via the stunning G-Link cable car and from there it is easy to explore the slopes to Alpendorf and Flachau. Beginners will find the sun bathed terrace at the top of the Grafenburg an ideal starting point before heading over to join the progressing skiers on the fabulous long red runs down to the town. Our groups call these runs the ‘Autobahn’ and as the name suggests these are wide open motorway style slopes that are great at building confidence. These long runs mean more time on skis and less time on lifts.

      Test your mettle

After jumping on the G-Link the more testing slopes of the Flying Mozart gondola await. Some real leg burners to get your teeth into on this side of the mountain that will push the most advanced skiers. For those wishing to push on further than Flachau there is a free ski bus that will take the groups up to Kleinarl and from there you can ski over to Flachauwinkl and over again into Zauchensee.

      Accommodation

      Eat when you’re ready

For lunch there are options at the top, middle and bottom of the mountain but our groups always find their way to Onkel Tom’s Hutte or the Krapfenalm (doughnut house) where they are well received and never go hungry – our instructors stay with the group to ensure everyone has something suitable to eat.

      Experience imagination.

While most of our trips have a clear educational focus, we admit that a school trip to Disneyland® is more about having fun.

There are lessons to be had, though. STEM pupils can discover the physics, technology and engineering that drive rollercoasters. Business students can learn more about the marketing of a global brand, park management, and customer service. And performing arts classes can enjoy a Disney-themed workshop.

But, there’s no escaping it, the big draw of a Disneyland® trip is enjoying everything one of the world’s most famous amusement parks has to offer. To make it into a more balanced visit, many of our schools include it as an add-on at the end of a tour across Paris or Normandy.

To book your next trip to Disneyland®, get in touch today.

Why Choose Disneyland® For A School Trip?

      A Reward For Your Students

After a few days of a packed itinerary, sometimes students just need to unwind. Disneyland® Paris is the perfect add-on at the end of a busy trip. It’s something to keep spirits and motivation high during the more academic parts of a tour. It could also act as an end-of-term reward throughout the school year.

You only need 1-2 days to get the full experience. During that time, you’ll have the chance to visit both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios, where there’s something for everyone in your group.

      Easy, Safe and Super Smooth

Organising a school trip isn’t always easy, but Disney makes this part simple. The park is compact, well-signposted and designed with safety in mind. The staff are used to school groups and things run like clockwork, which gives you, the teachers, a chance to relax too.

With so much to do and very little to worry about, it’s a stress-free way to end your trip on a high.

      Example Itinerary

Here’s a sample itinerary for a 3-day trip to Disneyland Paris. Please note that this is only an example of a tour that we could organise; everything can be adapted to fit your needs.

        Great for Learning

There are two main access points – one from the main town and a quieter more group friendly access point at the ‘Rote 8er’ or Red 8 gondola. There is a superb beginner’s area from the mid-station of the Red 8 with a mountain huts for lunch at the bottom or mid-station before heading up to the top of the Flachau ski area to explore the superb tree lined runs of the 3 Spacejet and 3 Starjet chairlifts – all slopes are well linked and superbly prepared and make progression easy for the group.

        Build Skiers’ confidence

For beginners starting from the Flachau side there is a large beginner’s area at the top of the Achterjet gondola as well as two restaurants for lunch. The wide, open sunny bowl offers confidence building piste that will soon have everyone skiing over both sides of the mountain.

        Accommodation

        Take on the Ski Safari

From the top of the Griessenkareck Mountain groups can also ski down the Flying Mozart runs to get access to the G-Link to return to the Wagrain side of the valley. Indeed, many of our beginners group by the end of the week are taking on the Flachau to Alpendorf ski safari – a great achievement.

        Europe’s most enchanting city.

Paris is the most popular European destination for our schools.

Not only is it quick and easy to access, either by coach or air, but you can pack a huge amount into just a few days. Climb the steps of Montmartre. Witness the works of Monet, Picasso, and da Vinci. Practice French in a boulangerie. Study the world-famous fashion houses. Embrace the history of Versailles, or just blow off some steam at Disneyland.

Such is the variety of attractions and experiences that the French capital always feels fresh and exciting. And that’s great for schools – with many of the teachers we work with organising a school trip to Paris every year.

Whatever your focus, there are plenty of opportunities to create memories and support learning. And we’re here to help you bring it all together. When you’re ready, speak to one of our advisers.

Why Choose Paris For An Educational Tour?

        World-Changing History

Paris is a brilliant destination for groups studying the history of Europe. The city sat at the centre of the French Revolution and ensuing Napoleonic Wars, before suffering the terror of Nazi occupation until its liberation in August 1944.

As they explore the city, students will learn about these events and how they changed the world. Stretching further back in time, they’ll find remnants of medieval Paris along the cobbled lanes of the Latin Quarter and in the beautifully restored Notre-Dame Cathedral.

        World-Class Art

Paris has more art than you could see in a lifetime, but your students will love trying.

The works of the Louvre are known across the world – from the subtle smile of the Mona Lisa to masterpiece sculptures like the Venus de Milo. But we find school groups enjoy visits to the Musée de l’Orangerie and Musée d’Orsay just as much. After all, seeing Monet’s water lilies or Van Gogh’s distinct style in person is a rite of passage for budding artists.

        Real-World French Lessons

You can spend hours in the classroom covering vocabulary, sentence structures, and grammar rules. Why not put it all into practice?

For students, seeing that they can turn everything they’ve learnt into a real-life conversation is a rush. It sounds so simple, but even ordering a pain au chocolat in a local bakery, chatting with market stallholders, or simply navigating the metro immediately boosts confidence and creates a love of French.

        Example Itinerary

There’s so much to see and do in Paris, so here’s a sample itinerary we’ve put together to give you a few ideas. Please note that this is only an example of a tour that we could organise, everything can be adapted to fit your needs.

          Frequently Asked Questions

The cost of a school trip to Paris will depend on the number of children, your accommodation, length of stay, and the planned activities. Please give us a call and we’ll provide a full quote for your group.

Paris is a lovely city to visit at all times of the year. It is busier and more expensive in the summer months, so you may want to bear that in mind if you wish to avoid the crowds and keep costs down.

The vast majority of our school groups choose to visit Paris by coach. The ferry across the English Channel is an easy route that will get you to Paris in a relatively short amount of time. Plus, that means you have a coach on hand for day trips – Versailles, for example, is over an hour from the city centre. If you wish, it is possible to fly, although it will be more expensive.

          Picture-perfect skiing

Encircled by the picturesque Lagorai, Pale di San Martino and Latemar Dolomites the valley boasts one of the most snow sure ski areas in Europe. One ski pass covering a variety of ski areas offering over 160km of some of the best skiing in the Italian Dolomites. Each of the ski areas offers a very different skiing experience, but they all share the same high-quality lift system (consisting mainly of chairlifts and gondolas) and pride in piste preparation that is often quoted as being the best in Europe. The majority of the slopes are over 1700m and this, combined with excellent snow making facilities, ensures great skiing throughout the season from December to mid-April.

          Passo Rolle

A small resort at the head of the valley but at the top of the scenery stakes. With the base at almost 2000m the views of the Dolomite Mountains are unbelievable.

The resort is split by the main road with one side offering open rolling piste for that relaxed afternoon skiing that is need after taking on the more challenging rugged side of the resort. A must are the views from the top of the Sagantini and aptly named Paradiso chairs, one on each side of the resort but not to be missed.

          Ski Centre Latemar

Most groups begin their week at Ski Centre Latemar – the biggest area of the valley. The wide blue and red graded motorway style runs wind across five valleys of open and tree lined piste. Such is the effect of this area that our returning clients have begun to give the slopes their own names so if you want to ski the ‘Stairway to Heaven’ or take in the view from ‘Grappa Mountain’ just ask.

Beginners will find gentle slopes using modern magic carpets at both areas before heading across the mountains to the progressive blues and reds. As confidence and skill develops skiers will head towards the top of the Tresca bubble express to enjoy the 4km run back to the Pampeago base or the 3.5km run down from the Gardone chair. Advanced skiers will enjoy the off-piste possibilities as well as the challenge of the black Pala di Santa piste.

          The Personal Touch

Our hotels are situated along the valley with easy access to the ski areas. All are family owned & run and offer space for only one or two groups, accommodating the students in spacious rooms all with private facilities. The food and standard of service is first class and guests are always made to feel at home and part of the family.

          Plenty to See and Do

The traditional valley towns of Cavalese and Predazzo have a relaxing alpine atmosphere and offer excellent facilities including swimming pools, ice rinks, discotheques and a variety of shops; and of course no visit would be complete without a visit to a Pizzeria and Ice Cream Café. The Val di Fiemme is a truly inspiring place to ski and combined with the warm welcome from the locals you will be hard pressed to find anything better in Europe.
