A perfect location

We highly recommend Sansicario for school groups because of its perfect location in the centre of the Milky Way ski area. The nursery slopes near the village were built with first-timers in mind, while the blue and red pistes further up the mountain allow for gradual progressions as students develop over the week.

For intermediates and advanced skiers, the connection to neighbouring resorts opens up a wealth of options. Groups can explore the extensive World Cup runs of Sestriere, the forested trails of Sauze d’Oulx, or even venture across the French border into Montgenèvre for an international skiing adventure.

Avoid the crowds

The resorts in France and Italy are always popular choices for travellers from the UK and Europe due to the ease of access. That often leads to longer lift queues and busier slopes which get increasingly cut up towards the end of the day. However, Sansicario tends to be less crowded, which can be a great advantage when you have a large group of pupils.

Plenty to enjoy

With a huge range of slopes in Sansicario and endless possibilities across the rest of Milky Way resorts, there’s so much for your group to try. Not to mention the local boardercross and snow parks for your skiers to put their skills to the test (and catch some sweet air time!).

Keep your group entertained

As a purpose-built, modern resort, Sansicario caters well for school groups. We have several accommodation options, each allowing easy transfers to the slopes (including ski-in, ski-out).

The resort village is small and self-contained, making it easy to manage your group in the evenings. Speaking of which, you could head to the snowpark for a spot of tobogganing or tubing, catch a film, or visit an authentic mountain restaurant for an Italian pizza night (which usually goes down as the best night of the trip!).

A charming Italian resort with world-class skiing

With over 400km of linked pistes, modern lifts, and reliable snow conditions, Sauze d’Oulx is a fantastic choice for school groups of all abilities. Add in a historic old mountain town, friendly locals, and delicious Italian cuisine, and it’s no surprise that this resort is a firm favourite with schools.

Sauze d’Oulx has real pedigree in the ski world, too. It played host to the freestyle events of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games and is part of the Via Lattea (Milky Way) skiing area – along with several other famed resorts along the French-Italian border.

Reliable snow conditions

Sauze d’Oulx forms part of the Milky Way ski area, a network of interconnected resorts that includes Sestriere, Claviere, Sansicario, Cesana, and Montgenèvre in France.

Fortunately, one ski pass provides access to the entire area – although keep in mind Montgenèvre is only included with a minimum 6-day pass. That means your students could ski at a different resort each day, using your “home” resort as a base to explore over 400km of pistes.

Plus, thanks to its high altitude and efficient snowmaking system, Sauze d’Oulx enjoys reliable snow conditions throughout the season.

Beginner Friendly Slopes

For beginners, Sauze d’Oulx’s Sportinia area is the ideal starting point. Its wide, easy slopes and excellent ski school will help students get to grips with the basics of staying upright and performing turns. As confidence grows, students can progress to longer blue runs that wind through the forested areas, offering stunning views across the Susa Valley.

Advanced Challenges

Intermediate and advanced skiers will enjoy the extensive network of red and black runs across Via Lattea. Starting in Sauze d’Oulx, Gran Pista is a well-loved red, while Slop 12 is a 4.5km winding trail down to the Jouvenceaux ski lift. For more thrills, head up into Sestriere for several tracks chosen for the World Cup.

Keep your group entertained

Evening options include movie nights, quiz competitions, and organised group dinners where your students can enjoy authentic Italian pizza and pasta (one of the best parts of choosing an Italian ski resort).

Or, if you still have the energy after a full day on the slopes, your group can enjoy snowshoeing, tobogganing, or ice skating for a fun and active evening.

As for Sauze d’Oulx, it’s a historic old mountain town with a lovely, friendly feel. Explore the cobbled streets, look out for the area’s wooden sculptures, and encourage your students to practice their Italian in the local bakeries, cafes, and restaurants.

A charming Italian resort in the Dolomites

Tucked away in the stunning Trentino region of northern Italy, Pinzolo offers school groups a unique skiing experience.

Pinzolo is only small, but the resort is part of the wider Campiglio ski area. That means your group will have access to over 150km of interconnected pistes across Italy’s breathtaking Dolomite mountains.

Plus, with a friendly atmosphere, uncrowded slopes, and excellent accommodation options, it’s become a real favourite with our groups.

Pinzolo has a little of everything

The Campiglio ski area consists of three resorts: Pinzolo, Madonna di Campiglio, and Folgarida-Marilleva. A single ski pass means your group can experience everything the area has to offer.

Pinzolo has a little of everything but is particularly well set for beginners with the Family Park at the top of the main ski lift from the village. There’s a maze of blues and reds, along with the Audi Tulot, a black diamond run considered unmissable for the experienced members of your group.

From the very top of Doss Del Sabion, skiers of all abilities can work their way down to the Pinzolo Campiglio Express gondolas to access the rest of the region.

Madonna di Campiglio

Madonna di Campiglio is one of Italy’s most prestigious resorts. Beginners will enjoy the gentle runs around the Grostè area, while intermediates can explore the panoramic red pistes, like Cinque Laghi, with views of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For advanced skiers, the Canalone Miramonti run, used in World Cup events, is the main attraction and a thrilling challenge.

Folgarida–Marilleva

If you’re happy to head further afield on a day trip from Pinzolo, then Folgarida-Marilleva is a great option. The well-groomed pistes and modern lift system make it easy for groups to visit and enjoy every corner of the area.

Aside from a variety of blue, red and black runs, there’s also a snowpark near Doss della Pessa for added fun – test your students on the range of jumps, boxes and pipes.

A Great Choice For Schools

We like Pinzolo because it combines the charm of a traditional alpine village with the facilities of a world-class ski area. Its compact size and uncrowded slopes make it easier to manage your group day-to-day, while the friendly ski schools are experienced with young learners and can easily tailor their tuition accordingly.

In the evenings, students can try snowshoeing through the serene alpine forests, enjoy sledging under the stars, or relax in one of the resort’s cosy cafes with a hot chocolate.

We can also organise a range of evening activities, including quiz nights, organised group games, and movie screenings – meaning there’s always something to look forward to off the slopes.

Where else can your group experience fabulous doorstep skiing followed by the excitement of dog sledding? With one of the best snow records in the Dolomites, and state of the art snow making, snow cover is almost guaranteed over the whole 150km ski area and bad weather won’t disrupt your skiing as the tree lined slopes offer plenty of shelter to keep you skiing.

The Ski Area

The Skiarea Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta (Madonna di Campiglio/Folgàrida/Marilléva/Pinzolo) has runs at all levels of difficulty. From long, wide gentle slopes to challenging tree-lined runs, there is something for everyone and is the perfect resort for school groups.

It’s generally acknowledged in the ski world that there are few resorts with such a good selection of long blue and red runs and the modern efficient lift system (with wi-fi hotspots) means more time on snow and less time on lifts as you explore the whole area.

Perfect for beginners…

Beginners will enjoy the easy access to the gentle slopes and the great progression on to longer blue runs radiating down from the Pradalago and Passo Groste peaks. The fabulous tree lined slopes make for an excellent teaching environment and students will soon be chasing onto the long red runs on Cinque Laghi & Monte Spinale areas before testing their ski legs by exploring over towards the Monte Vigo peak. From Monte Vigo skiers start above the tree line and sweep down the wide panoramic slopes into the trees towards Folgarida and Marilleva.

… and for Advanced skiers

To the south the resort of Pinzolo offers slopes to suit all skiers but more advance skiers will be itching to try the Tulot Audi Black run – at 2.6km with up to 70% incline – a true test for all skiers. Adrenaline hunters are well catered for with the highlights being the Canalone Miramonti World Cup Run in Cinque Laghi; the Schumacher Streif from Monte Spinale and the black-diamond Amazzonia from the top of the Pradalago cable car not to be missed!…

Folgaria benefits from further investment which can be found in the après ski facilities including a new ice rink, swimming pool and games hall in the main town itself. Folgaria is earning a fantastic reputation as one of the top ski resorts for school travel in Italy and has our groups returning year after year.

Skiing for All, All Season Long

Folgaria’s ski area is home to over 100km of piste. Skiing through tree-lined pistes on well-maintained slopes, Folgaria has exciting ski to offer, ideal for all levels of skiers. There is terrain for beginners and large areas for intermediate skiers. Wide ski slopes makes this resort the ideal destination for your pupils to learn to ski or develop their skills.

Your beginner groups can look forward to quick progression from nursery slopes to more advanced runs as their confidence grows. Intermediate and advanced skiers will enjoy a great choice of lifts from Folgaria connecting to neighbouring areas.

Perfect for Schools

Ski equipment is stored at the base station so no need to load and unload the coach each day. The child friendly ski school will ensure that the pupils make the most of their stay and the majority will be skiing the whole mountain by the end of the week. With new runs and lifts planned (including a gondola from Folgaria to the top of Fondo Grande) plus further investment in the après ski side, Folgaria looks set to confirm its position as one of the best school group venues in Italy.
The largest ski area in the Val di Fiemme
The largest ski area in the Val di Fiemme offering a wide range of slopes across 5 picturesque valleys. A real cultural experience as you head from the mainly Italian speaking Pampeago area and ski over to the mainly German speaking Obereggen resort – it pays to be tri-lingual in this area.
Our groups have run out of superlatives when trying to describe the beauty of the area, the slopes, the ski school and warmth of the people to us so all we can say is come and see at first-hand the resort that has left pupils and staff speechless.

All-Season Skiing

A large network of mainly red and blue runs are spread across 5 valleys from the town of Predazzo into the hub of Pampeago and then across to Obereggen. A very snow sure area offering most of the skiing above 1700m, the Pampeago area offers great conditions all season long.

Most groups start from the Pampeago area with the main beginners slopes and meeting areas just above the car park (or the Sporthotel Pampeago if you are staying there) on the Latemar lift. A large wide snow bowl is a great starting area for beginners with two chairlifts to ensure a quick return. Progression is easy with numerous gentle blue and red runs winding their way across three valleys towards Obereggen, all linked with fast, comfortable chair lifts. A stop in the middle valley at the top of the Absam Maierl 6 person chairlift offers some of the most up-close and breathtaking views of the Dolomites in the area. Groups will ski on tree lined trails and more open motorway style slopes – all immaculately prepared. This superb preparation aids learning as pupils can trust the slopes under their skis and not worry about hitting rogue patches of ice etc. A better learning environment makes for a more confidence-building experience.

Challenges for Every Level of Skier

Progressing skiers will take on the more challenging slopes of Grappa Mountain, Chairway to Heaven and the Race Track (named by our groups – just ask for the full story.) on the Agnello side of the mountain before taking on the testing long black and red runs heading down from the top of the Passo Feudo chairlift to the Refugio Gardone (where the cable car from Predazzo arrives). For the ultimate challenge the Pala di Santa offers a deceptively easy start into a steep black run that will test the most advanced skiers. Overall every level of skier will find more than enough to challenge and push them during their visit and our ski school will ensure that every pupil reaches the best of their potential and has an unforgettable trip.

Hungry? You’re Spoilt for Choice

Food and the Italians go hand in hand and we use at least 5 different mountain restaurants in the resort. Students and staff get offered plenty of variety, from pizza and pasta to burgers and bratwurst all tastes can be catered for. The only problem might be skiing on a very full stomach after lunch.
Amazing views of the Dolomites
Just a short cable car ride from the town of Cavalese and around 10 to 20 minutes from the majority of our hotels in the Val di Fiemme, Cermis offers high, snow-sure, testing skiing and amazing views of the Dolomites and surrounding area. Many groups use the cable car to spend some time in the medieval town before heading back to their hotel.

Snow Guaranteed

Two large snow sure bowls and a long chute run to the valley make up the Cermis area. Cermis has the best snow record in the valley and you are always guaranteed the best conditions and piste preparation here. The first bowl above the Eurotel and gondola top station offers beginners a large wide play area to finish the week before heading down the 4.5km Via del Bosco to the mid-station. Progressing skiers head over into the ‘back bowl’ served by the Prafiori chairlift to explore the long red runs and many off-piste options with their instructor. Those up for the challenge of the Olympia runs may start off with a few runs on the Costabella and Carlo Donei slopes and when ready they can have a go at the first section before the more challenging Olympia 2 (which offers stunning views across the valley) and then the more relaxed red slope of Olympia 3.

Food for Every Taste

For lunch the Rifugio Paion at 2250m is the preferred option. You can enjoy a wide range of fantastic freshly cooked Italian food or go for one of the ever popular burgers or bratwurst from the BBQ on the sun terrace. Lunch in the mountains – a truly magical experience in the Val di Fiemme.

Take on the Olympia

Slightly smaller than the other ski areas in the Val di Fiemme we visit the Cermis area towards the end of your ski tour. By that time the groups will be ready to face the monster Olympia run – all 3 parts and 7.2km of it.

Just a short drive from the town of Predazzo and around 30 minutes from Cavalese, the truly beautiful mountain offers simply some of the most stunning scenery of any ski resort in Europe.

Get to the Snow – Fast

The Bellamonte / Alpe Lusia ski area offers skiing on two sides of the mountain. The Bellamonte side is the main starting point for our groups and the wide gentle slopes are accessed by the new fast Castelir gondola cuts the ascent time from 22 minutes down to 8 minutes – getting you on the snow faster than ever. The sweeping blue runs down the mountain offer a superb teaching environment and our professional ski school will ensure that your pupils develop their skills to the best of their ability, with the possibility to spend some time in the snow cross park. Skiers of all levels will love the best ‘home’ run in the valley – at almost 6km long the run from the top of the Campo Laste chairlift down the Zirmes, Le Fassane & Castelir slopes is a cruisers delight and a great leg burner to finish your day.

Challenging Runs and Long Descents

The rolling piste of the La Clune run leads you down to the stunning ‘Trolls Café’ a must see for it’s themed basement restaurant. Take the La Clune lift and head to the Alpe Lusia where you will discover a couple of challenging black runs plus a few testing reds, forming a long descent of almost 4km down to the Moena Gondola. You will also find a few relaxing blue runs plus the fun of another ski cross park.

Vistas and Pizzas

One visit and you too will fall in love with the Beautiful Mountain and discover why so many of our groups put this resort number 1 on their list when they visit the Val di Fiemme. For lunch, no one goes hungry in Bellamonte. The food served at El Zirmo or the Rifugio Bucaneve disappears as fast as it appears, including the enormous cart-wheel pizzas. If you are on the Alpe Luisa side, the Chalet Valbona offers refined dining and the Agri-Bar a more rustic experience that makes it well worth a visit.
One of the most snow-sure areas in Europe

The beautiful Val di Fiemme offers an experience guaranteed to have everyone yearning to return. We have over 30 seasons working in Val di Fiemme, which we are extremely proud of. Picture-perfect skiing

Encircled by the picturesque Lagorai, Pale di San Martino and Latemar Dolomites the valley boasts one of the most snow sure ski areas in Europe. One ski pass covering a variety of ski areas offering over 160km of some of the best skiing in the Italian Dolomites. Each of the ski areas offers a very different skiing experience, but they all share the same high-quality lift system (consisting mainly of chairlifts and gondolas) and pride in piste preparation that is often quoted as being the best in Europe. The majority of the slopes are over 1700m and this, combined with excellent snow making facilities, ensures great skiing throughout the season from December to mid-April.

Passo Rolle

A small resort at the head of the valley but at the top of the scenery stakes. With the base at almost 2000m the views of the Dolomite Mountains are unbelievable.

The resort is split by the main road with one side offering open rolling piste for that relaxed afternoon skiing that is need after taking on the more challenging rugged side of the resort. A must are the views from the top of the Sagantini and aptly named Paradiso chairs, one on each side of the resort but not to be missed.

Ski Centre Latemar

Most groups begin their week at Ski Centre Latemar – the biggest area of the valley. The wide blue and red graded motorway style runs wind across five valleys of open and tree lined piste. Such is the effect of this area that our returning clients have begun to give the slopes their own names so if you want to ski the ‘Stairway to Heaven’ or take in the view from ‘Grappa Mountain’ just ask.

Beginners will find gentle slopes using modern magic carpets at both areas before heading across the mountains to the progressive blues and reds. As confidence and skill develops skiers will head towards the top of the Tresca bubble express to enjoy the 4km run back to the Pampeago base or the 3.5km run down from the Gardone chair. Advanced skiers will enjoy the off-piste possibilities as well as the challenge of the black Pala di Santa piste.

The Personal Touch

Our hotels are situated along the valley with easy access to the ski areas. All are family owned & run and offer space for only one or two groups, accommodating the students in spacious rooms all with private facilities. The food and standard of service is first class and guests are always made to feel at home and part of the family.

Plenty to See and Do

The traditional valley towns of Cavalese and Predazzo have a relaxing alpine atmosphere and offer excellent facilities including swimming pools, ice rinks, discotheques and a variety of shops; and of course no visit would be complete without a visit to a Pizzeria and Ice Cream Café. The Val di Fiemme is a truly inspiring place to ski and combined with the warm welcome from the locals you will be hard pressed to find anything better in Europe.
