A truly moving school tour.

From the remains of the Somme to the memorials of Ypres and beyond, the First World War battlefields across France and Belgium tell of the terrible cost of war.

We organise trips and tours of these historic areas for schools across the UK. Typically, you’ll stay in or near Ypres, using this as a base to explore the entire region.

You’ll take in the events of the 1916 Battle of the Somme by following the Circuit of Remembrance, attend the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate, visit the interactive In Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres and experience a German trench system at the
Passchendaele Museum.

    Trip Highlights

    Ypres

Few experiences are more memorable or poignant for young minds than a school trip to Ypres, where students experience the living conditions in the trenches and the destructive power of war.

As one of the most visited parts of the Western Front, where 250,000 soldiers died during the Great War in the defence of Ypres, battlefield sites include Hill 62 Sanctuary Wood Trench Museum and Bayernwald Croonaert Wood Trenches.

    Flanders Fields

A trip to Flanders Fields, where a million soldiers were wounded, missing or killed in action, reinforces the destruction and impact of war. There are hundreds of monuments and cemeteries, which have great historical significance for peoples of many nations. Visits include the Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing that contains the names of over 50,000 officers and men.
