What makes us different?

So with a number of school ski companies out there, why should you choose to work with IBT Travel?

There are four areas where we strive to be the best-in-class: reliability, quality, expertise, and peace of mind.

It doesn’t matter if you have experience of organising school ski trips, or you’re doing it for the first-time, we know it takes a huge amount of effort to make it happen. You need a partner you can trust, who supports you through every stage of the planning and booking process – and that’s what our team does, from the moment you contact us.

We’ve planned and delivered ski tours for over 35 years. During that time, we’ve learned what works and what doesn’t – meaning we know how to create a trip that your students will love. By working with us, you’ll benefit from the experience we’ve gained, the feedback we’ve received, and the industry knowledge we have – resulting in a trip that exceeds your expectations.

The majority of school ski trips include a wide variety of students: different ages, ability levels, dietary requirements, and so on. Using our expert knowledge of the resorts across Europe and North America, we’ll suggest the best destination for your group – matched perfectly to your budget and needs.

We are an established ski tour operator with a loyal customer base, excellent customer support and strong relationships with resort staff. We are there when you need us and provide all of the information you need to have a great ski trip. We will make sure you are prepared and are always available to answer any questions you might have. Unlike many other operators, you will leave for your ski trip confident that should you need assistance on the slopes or at your accommodation, IBT Travel will be there for you.

Fantastic service at every part of the trip… right up to drop off and aftersales! Friendly staff who make you feel welcome at every stage. Can’t wait for the next trip!

Mr. Aitchison2022

The level of individual support and attention to detail far surpasses anything I have experienced before (school ski trip or otherwise)… absolutely fantastic!

Mr. Stanway2022

It is rare to find a company who will honour the promises they make in the glossy promotional material. IBT did, even if it meant it was at their own expense.

    Frequently Asked Questions

The best time to take your group skiing will greatly depend on what you are looking for. The most popular time for schools to go away is during the February half-term holiday. This is chosen because it is the height of winter, the snow is good, and the resorts are lively. However, because this is a peak time, demand is high, and unless you book early, availability can be limited. It can also be more expensive.

Easter skiing is also very popular. However, if Easter falls later in the year, snow may be lacking in some areas. If you are looking for the best value with more skiing for your money, the best time to book is between Christmas and the February half-term holiday. We can discuss your options with you and find a time that best suits your group and budget.

Yes, that is no problem at all, you may be required to pay a little more, but we can help you find the most cost-efficient trip for your group.

We have a good variety of accommodation choices available on our ski trips – from ski-in, ski-out hotels to private, purpose-built options for school groups.

Every ski trip is different, and so the costs involved can vary quite a lot. Things such as location and time of year have a significant impact on the cost of a ski trip, as well as whether you choose to travel by plane or coach, the size of your group, and the type of accommodation you choose to book. However, a school ski trip to Europe should cost from around £900 per pupil, while a trip to the USA and Canada usually starts around £2,000 per pupil.

Our 5-day ski package is growing in popularity every year, with over 93% of schools now choosing it over other options. Your group will enjoy more convenient travel to your chosen resort and Monday to Friday skiing – allowing you to avoid any weekend difficulties on the slopes.

Most groups opt to include 5 hours of instruction per day to give the pupils 25 hours of ski instruction in the week as opposed to 24 in the standard 6 day / 4 hour package.

The benefit? More skiing for your group at a much cheaper price.

Some groups do choose to do less than this, particularly with younger groups as it can be a lot for the children. On the other hand, some groups choose to do 6 hours of lessons per day to maximise time on the slopes for the students.

Our flight and coach packages include 5, 6 or 7 nights of accommodation in a resort with 4, 5 or 6 days skiing. Flights are with schedule or budget carriers, subject to what is available from your local airport.

Altitude plays a part but more important is the snow record, snowmaking and piste preparation. We will only use resorts that offer a combination of these factors to ensure a fantastic ski experience for your group. We will suggest resorts that meet your trip criteria and offer great ski conditions regardless of your chosen travel date.

This scenario is very unlikely. We have years of experience in sending groups on ski trips, and we can advise you fully on the best resorts for the time of year you plan to visit. We only send groups on trips we know you will enjoy, and where we are confident that the snow will be in great condition whenever you choose to travel – this is what sets us apart from our competitors.
