A city that captures the imagination.

The moment you step onto a New York street, it hits you. The scale, the noise, the pace. Everything feels bigger. Louder. Faster.

That’s why it’s a brilliant destination for school groups. You’ll walk through Times Square. Take in the views from the Empire State Building. Explore the galleries of MoMA or the powerful exhibits at the 9/11 Memorial Museum.

Our team have visited the city many times. It’s a big journey, and it requires lots of planning, but we’re here to make it simple. We know that whatever you teach, whether it’s history, media, art, business, or politics, New York delivers.

But, more than anything, we know exactly how to make the most of a school trip to New York – what attractions to visit, where to stay, and how to get around. We also know where to get the best bagels in the city…

Why Choose New York For An Educational Tour?

Politics, power, and global influence

New York isn’t the capital of the United States, but it’s still a major source of power and influence. That means it’s great for students interested in politics, economics, or business.

At the United Nations HQ, your students will explore themes of global democracy and international cooperation. On Wall Street, home to the New York Stock Exchange, they’ll see how key financial decisions can ripple across the world.

And don’t miss the Federal Reserve Bank’s gold vault tour. There’s something about seeing over 500,000 solid gold bars that makes monetary policy discussions a whole lot more interesting back in the classroom. Trust us.

World-famous landmarks, all in one place

New York is packed with iconic attractions. There are so many that creating an itinerary for your group to visit them all is a regular headache for our travel advisers (don’t worry, we’ll figure it out!).

We’ll make sure you have time to look out from the top of the Empire State Building (where it’s quite chilly and windy, take a jacket), stand in front of the Statue of Liberty, and reflect at the 9/11 Memorial.

Art students can take in the Guggenheim and The Met, while everyone will enjoy the energy of Times Square, the skyline from the Brooklyn Bridge, and the daily life of Central Park.

A taste of a new culture

New York is a great introduction to American life. The accents, the portions, the yellow cabs, the street food, the pace – everything feels slightly larger than life.

Experiencing a new culture, especially one so different, is a great way of getting your students out of their comfort zones. It’ll boost their interest in the wider world and encourage independence.

    Frequently Asked Questions

New York is one of our more expensive options, given the considerable distance and cost of flights. It is, however, thoroughly worth the money. We’ll try our best to build a great trip for a reasonable budget, although the exact amount will depend on the length of your stay and time of year. Please contact us for a full quote.

School groups can visit New York at any time of year. Winter weather can be quite harsh, but as long as you pack appropriately, you’ll be fine. Plus, Christmas time in New York is a special experience. Spring, Summer and Autumn vary in temperature and tourist numbers, but each are excellent times to visit.

You’ll fly from a major UK airport directly to New York. Once you arrive, school groups can use the city’s famous subway system to get around the city. This is often the most effective mode of transport when the roads are busy.
