There are many positive benefits for children that participate in a school trip both physically and from an out of the classroom educational experience. Apart from the obvious of visiting a beautiful destination pupils are encouraged to participate in the cultural differences that exist in the area, the language, food and customs. There is also the social interaction involved throughout the course of the week which can create a new confidence outwith the school environment.
In terms of educational benefits a school trip will provide opportunities for informal learning and the opportunity to develop both emotionally and through a feeling of well being from activity – a life building experience.
IBT treats the welfare of every participant with the utmost respect and conducts rigorous safety audits and risk assessments in conjunction with the party leader. For further information please visit our section on safety.
Initially a member of our staff will discuss the needs of the trip with the party leader and once a proposal has been finalised and approved by the LEA it is promoted to the pupils via letters and approval forms. The terms and conditions of travel are available on this website.
Once the party has been assembled, IBT will issue a confirmation to the school and the services are then put in place. The school will ensure that adequate insurance provision is also in place and you should be given sight of the policy for your peace of mind.
