MUNICH

Overview

Munich, in the South of Germany, is the capital of Bavaria. It is an outstanding city that mixes traditional Bavarian culture with contemporary architecture, from the royal heritage of its palaces and traditional museums to the dynamism of its modern and high tech buildings.

Whether you are interested in architecture, art or history, Munich has a wealth of attractions that will fascinate any tour group. The Munich skyline is characterised with its many churches, such as the landmark Cathedral of Our Dear Lady and the Church of St. Peter (climb the 299 steps for a panoramic view of the city)! The famous “fairytale castle” of Neuschwanstein Castle just south of Munich has over one million visitors a year, which speaks for itself.

Enjoy Munich’s many parks and gardens, including the 900-acre “English Garden” – one of the largest urban parks in the world. Take a visit to Olympia Park, site of the 1972 Olympics or Allianz Arena with its unique illuminated façade (home to Bayern Munich Football Club).
